Introductory workshops in the Alexander Technique and its application to Musculoskeletal Disorders

MSDs

Throughout life, most of us slowly and unconsciously develop bad postural habits that can eventually lead to MSDs. These conditions are then aggravated by stress and demanding working conditions.

The Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique has been proven to be effective in reducing the incidence of MSDs.

The Alexander Technique teaches how to take ownership of one’s own health with practical steps to improve and prevent conditions.

Workshop content

  • Introduction to the Alexander Technique principles of the head, neck, back relationship of balance
  • The benefits of applying the Alexander Technique to everyday tasks
  • How the Alexander Technique improves our functioning

Practical procedures include:

  1. Individual instructions and guidance for minimising upper limb tension and facilitating more efficient functional movements.
  2. Instructions and guidance to carry out a full body realignment procedure.
  3. Workstation assessments for analysis of individual faulty movement patterns.
